Not destroying the ship increases the chance of the Unbidden showing up and makes it earlier. Or it used to. Not sure if they changed it. If you're not a ME or Hivemind accepting the ship will create a new faction of xenophiles I think. So if you're playing different ethics you should destroy it.

I cannot made any proper advance in the galaxy, because of those overwhelming shits, and I can't attack their first dimension portal. I killed one portal, and one other was closed by NPC. I reached the first portal several times, but it simple cannot be attacked. Imho, it usually depends on whether you're planning to get the Ecu Perk or not. If not, definitely use it an an Ecu, but if you are, keeping it as a tech world is a really good option. +25% to all Tech is hard to get elsewhere.
